Faulty Thought Process

Faulty Thought Process

Similar to Dysfunctional Behavior, it is any set of ideas or beliefs that contains some fundamental error. We all have certain faulty thoughts, and many of them are harmless. However, even the harmless ones can prevent us from improving our lives. If I come to believe that I must remove a rock from the infield each time I go to my position or I will always make an error, my faulty thought is that there is somehow a connection between that one rock and my fielding ability. If I fail to find a rock, even once, I am likely to worry excessively over the rock, rather than over my fielding fundamentals. If I am fully focused on everything I know about fielding, I can probably play in gravel pit with no errors.
